About Us

Mission Statement:  To provide the ideal outdoor environment, and an extraordinary opportunity for children to learn valuable skills, and make new friends through programs that promote imagination and fun.  We believe camp provides an opportunity for increased self-esteem as well as friendship building.  We strive to create a place where young people learn how to work as a group while gaining confidence in their abilities as individuals.

About Our Staff: Camp Carden is run by some of Carden Conejo School’s finest teachers. For specialty weeks of camp, teachers who teach those specific subjects throughout the school year come on staff to make sure that our campers get the best experience possible and learn at the same time. These specialty weeks include Performing Arts Week, Art Week, and Science Week. Our camp prides itself in not only making sure children have a fun time, but are also learning at the same time.

Camp Director: Jacob Schlosser is the Sports teacher at Carden Conejo School and has been directing camps and after school activities for ten years. His contagious energy and ability to work with each child on an individual level brings out the most positive attitudes in children and helps them grow in confidence.

Carden Conejo School: Camp Carden is an extension of Carden Conejo School in Westlake Village. Carden Conejo School is an independent non-sectarian co-ed school, offering the integrated Carden curriculum from Pre-School through 5th Grade.  The school serves approximately 250 boys and girls on our campus which is situated on 8 lush acres nestled in a quiet Westlake Village neighborhood.

Carden Conejo adheres to the Carden Method, developed by Mae Carden, which is designed to help children develop their innate powers of analytical and organized thinking through a structured and challenging academic curriculum.  We cultivate in each student, a lifelong passion for learning and instill self-confidence, creativity and communications skills.  We recognize the uniqueness of each child and are committed to preserving and developing that individuality. Carden Conejo School is currently offering tours and accepting applications for new students in grades pre-school through sixth grade. Please visit the Carden school website if you are interested in more information.
